It’s a good idea to find out in ADVANCE of your wedding the legalities in your state in regards to obtaining your marriage license. And by advance, I mean several months.

Some states require you to have a 3 day waiting period (not Indiana or Kentucky). If this is something you have put off doing the last week of the wedding, you could be in trouble. I like this link for general info, but you must contact your local city/county clerk’s office to be sure.

Remember you can have all the flowers in the world and the most beautiful linens. No legal officiant, witness or marriage license….no marriage! And of course, you need a bride and groom!
