your courtship memoirs

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

This little snippet came to me via email….and I think it is pretty darn cool. Ellen at Courtship Stories sent me a blurb about her little company.

Imagine having your courtship documented by a professional writer, add your own unique pictures and bind all those precious memories into one cute little square book….that is a recipe for a good keepsake!

Ellen will interview both of you and translate that into a beautifully written storybook fairytale. Or I suppose something funny and quirky….reflective of your personality. This can be a thoughtful gift for a couple who has everything!!!!

Prices are custom, so visit her blog to find out more information!

WHO are these bridezillas? An editorial rant.

bridezilla show we tv

Please be warned…there is about to be an editorial rant:

I am drawn to the Bridezilla show this year, much like a train wreck, it’s hard to turn my head away. And I am ashamed of myself.

Who are these women? What are you doing? A bride screaming at her father and pushing cake in his face at rehearsal, tearing up her wedding veil because it wasn’t the right shade and yelling at everyone that moves, especially her future husband. Another bride that treats her fiance like a small wounded dog taking every opportunity to tell him that he is a fat slob, a distaster and tells him to shutup, shutup, shutup, freaking SHUTUP. This is the man she is suppose to cherish, respect and love. I’m thinking, no.

Ladies (and I use that term as loosely as possible), why would you show the world how you treat your future spouse and other loved ones in this horrible demeaning manner? Is it really worth the vacation you get?

The Bridezilla series must be pulling in potential guests that didn’t quite make the infamous Jerry Springer Show. It makes good “reality TV”. That is the part that I find truly scary. This actually may be real.

This year the WEtv series is touting that the family fights back against their Bridezillas. I’m hoping for tear gas. So far I haven’t seen it.

Just know, that when my friends, family or acquaintances ask me, “Do you have any Bridezillas as clients”? I can sing from the roof tops of Evansville, “No way. All of my clients are too classy to be called a Bridezilla. Even on their most stressed days”.

I think I’ll do something more productive like watch ice melt, wait the extra hour and watch Platinum Weddings instead. For the first time in my life, I may just have to admit that in Reality TV Show World; cash may just equal class.

map it out

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

We love making maps here at planning..forever events studio. <rolling eyes> Not really, but we do try to help out our clients. So we tests an online DIY map…

Check out,  Wedding Mapper….a cute little online mapping system that you can DIY! We used their help and tweaked it ourselves to make this map…

The only thing I would make sure when using any secondary mapping system; is to double check that it is correct. We found Wedding Mapper to be totally easy to use, once you go the hang of it. Just always, always, double check accuracy. As with anything printed!

For something more custom and interesting, take a look at this map from Lucky Orchid Wedding.
It’s simply precious:

I couldn’t draw my way out of paper bag much less create something that lovely! Great job Laura! Check out her site for more inspirations.

no, thank YOU!

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Got the sweetest thank you card today from the MOB.

Man I love it when we hit a home run. And it was so easy to do so with this family, great attitudes and fun loving. They were one of our risk takers we talked about earlier! I’m waiting for the professional pictures from Walker Studio!! Which by the way, gave us this referral, so thank you very much!

thank-you-note

Housekeeping issue: we are tweaking the blog right now and for the next few weeks. Expect to find some weirdness. Just let us know if you can’t access something and thank you for your patience!
