I was saddened to hear that Merv Griffin, 82 years lost his battle with prostate cancer today. The man was a legend and an icon who’s focus and out-of-the-box thinking formed what game show TV is and talk shows. Ever heard of a couple of game shows: Jeopardy! or Wheel of Fortune? He created those.

Still I remember watching his talk show when I was a kid with my Mom (totally just dated myself). I remember he was funny, classy and had a great singing voice.

My fave event designer, Sally Barker, with Welborn Floral & Events, just gave birth to her second child, Garrison. I hope she doesn’t mind but I am posting a pic of this little cutey that was taken by her cell phone.

Speedy recovery, my friend. Can’t wait to kiss the newcomer!!! We’ll have him hanging drape in no time!!!

My bride, Kelsey Starks is a news reporter in Charleston. You remember her beautiful wedding this past summer? Anyway - with that hurricane last week, her live reporting made National News for the first time! How exciting!

I would like to say congratulations to my favorite, husband-and-wife team wedding videographers, Todd and Tracy Lamkin with Black Tie Video Productions. Today is their 22nd wedding anniversary!!

We first met three years ago and as wedding vendors we stay in contact with each other bouncing off business ideas and so forth. We’ve also worked on quite a few projects together (in fact we will be working together at a reception this Saturday). They are a great team - Todd knows the equipment and best camera angles and Tracy manages the editing to give the finished wedding DVD that special human touch. It’s great to be able to recommend them - because I know they are going to be professional and dependable.

Makes you wonder…..do they have a video of their wedding? *wink*
