office depot green office supplies

office

Green Monday here….and while I realize that many of you who read this blog don’t “own” your own business, I do know that most of you use: paper, pencils, and general office supplies. Some of you might actually buy your own supplies (instead of stealing borrowing from your office).

If you do purchase your own writing instruments…let me turn you on to Office Depot’s latest and greatest: Buying Green. I love the answer they give to the question, “What is Green?”

It’s a question that has no single answer because every product has an environmental impact.

Adore that answer! If you have a moment, click on their guide to see what products they offer. It may be something that you use frequently…and one switch will impact our environment!

earth friendly weddings

Jennifer at Earth Friendly Weddings blogged about our tree at Super Bride…she is such a sweetie! Thank you so much!

Which brings me to talk about her latest endeavor… earthlyaffair.com :: earth friendly invitations.  Original and unique (of course on recycled paper) it proves that making a green friendly decision does not mean you give up looking good. Take a look at one of her creations, Pinwheel (which comes in a variety of colors, as all her invitations).

So cute!!! Make sure you take a moment to look at the rest of her creative line!

organic style website

Don’t get mad… but I really feel Valentine’s Day was created for Hallmark and florists. Not that it’s not a good idea to stop and tell your significant other that you appreciate them…but it can be just a little too rehearsed.

However…if you are interested in some chocolates or red roses…why not take an organic approach? It’s Green Monday here and we stumbled with our mouse upon OrganicStyle.com.

Cute little website; they offer eco-friendly alternatives for your big V Day and offer a way to say, “I love you and the earth too“. Plenty of gift giving ideas (year round). Don’t forget their pet section…..our pets give us the truest form of love there is…absolutely unconditional.

(and if my chocolate lab stops chewing my new curtains…he may get a treat on Thursday).

ps: If you have to get your Valentines Card from a regular store…remember to buy: American Greetings’ new American Greetings to the World line. They use recycled paper.

Green Monday here….we have been lax in commenting in this area. So here is our big announcement!!!

Being green is being conservative - making use of the same space, no? So we are proud to announce our new cyber-studio…

green (eco friendly) business

Monday, January 7th, 2008

Go Green Monday here.

Instead of talking about eco-friendly living; I’d like to show how you can green your business event. In August 2007 we were the planners for the Energy Summit for Southwest Indiana. Not quite a ‘green event’ we did make strides in providing green resources for attendees considering the subject of the Summit was conserving and using renewable resources for local businesses.

The Summit took place at The Centre in downtown Evansville. A beautiful, multi-million dollar facility; we took advantage of there huge stage for the speakers. We were lucky enough to have the stage designed by Landscapes by Dallas Foster.

Our distinguished speakers such as; our Indiana state governor, Mitch Daniels, Congressman Brad Ellsworth, Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel, Cheryl Musgrave; Director for the Department of Local Government Finance for Indiana and Jim McKinney; President/CEO of Regency Commercial Associates (and too many more to list).

Talk about going green….the entire stage was filled with trees, shrubs, natural potted flowers. You could almost hear the birds singing and the frogs croaking. It was a beautiful presentation and all of the potted landscape went right back to their store to be sold. Renewable and fitting.

Here are the pictures….

So here’s a thought…..could you do something similar for your weddings? Something to think about.

Green Monday here. We’ll be brief and let our pictures do the talking.

Make one small change to your wedding or event and a huge impact on the environment.

This is NO.

This is YES.
