If you are in the business of blogging, you know there is this site called alltop.com. Essentially they handpick sites from around the world, collecting stories from “all the top” sites on the web.

They have a gazillion categories, anything you can think of, so we were pretty excited to get the nod from the cool dudes at alltop and (drum roll….)

It’s water cooler talk at the wedding planning studio. Just a few things to mention.

1. Mark your calenders: August 23, 2008 will be the official, one-time only, grand opening gala of Holly’s House!!! Our favorite charity, I am chairing the event with the committee (us worker bees). We are so excited to be a part of this opening. It will be called “A Ray of Hope at Holly’s House” and except beachy, summmery theme. More to come on this…..

2. Mark your calendars: July 25, 2008 will be the public grand opening of the new Hilton Garden Inn. We are pleased to be the event planners for the VIP party. You will have to stop in to see the newest hotel in Evansville!!!

3. Our offices will be closed from June 24-29th as we are leaving for Laaaaaas Vegas for two weddings!!! We’ll squeeze in shopping and good food.

4. Our offices will be open on a limited basis from July 1-3rd and closed for the 4th of July holiday weekend. For current clients, we will answer any emergency questions during that time period. What is an emergency? The hotel has shut down for your reception. Your entire wedding party has decided to not come to your wedding. Your photographer has left the country and your DJ is having elective surgery on your wedding date. You get the drift. Take a break from planning and ENJOY THE SUMMER HOLIDAY!

Sorry…..no wedding stuff for a couple of days…got to put on the corporate business hat. Aaaaannnnd business!

We’d love to see you this Wednesday, March 5th at The Centre, Downtown Evansville (TOMORROW) at the annual RC Cola/Chamber Tri-State Business Expo! This premiere business expo is open from 1:00pm to 7:00pm. Admittance is FREE!

We’ll be calling booth 62 our home and will be giving away a prize…in exchange for your business card.

Besides the free stuff, you’ll want to stop by to take a look at our corporate and business meeting services. In 2007, we went back to our grass roots and launched our corporate event planning services (in addition to our current wedding and social event planning).

Some of our successful events:

- Design/Decor for the Evansville Philharmonic Gala 2007
- Pre-Grand Opening for Holly’s House

We are so lucky to be asked to contribute every year to the local wedding magazine; Weddings 2008 published by the Evansville Courier & Press. For the past five years we have wrote articles that would be of interest to the local brides/grooms in the area.

This past issue is no exception. Three of our stories made the cover; and we are pretty excited about it.

Now just in CASE you couldn’t make out our stories….we helped you out by circling them in red.

If you have a moment you’ll want to take a look the local photographers who have actually done a Trash the Dress session (my favorite story)!!!! Not bad for little ‘ole Evansville, Indiana. Heidi Wagner with Eye Candy Photography and Jeannie Turnock with Equinox Photography. I hope I cited all the names correctly in the article…of course giving props to Mark Eric with trashthedress.com and the person who coined the original TTD phrase, John Michael Cooper with alt f photography.

Herro….I have so much to update everyone … it’s simply been crazy around here. The team is busy gearing up for so many things that we have a hard time keeping up with New Year’s resolutions like working out. Sheesh.

Stay tune for these upcoming topics;

1. First, Super Bride Sunday 2008 is slated for February 3rd at The Centre Exhibit Hall in Downtown Evansville. This is the largest tri-state bridal show in this area. Will we be there? Oh yes….we’ll be trying to top our booth from last year. I’m flying in architects from New York to help build the structure. (I may jest a little…but you’ll never know unless you show up).

2. Stay tuned for tips on how to work the bridal show; I’ll be talking about it next week on Fox 7 News at 6pm on Tuesday and Thursday evening as well as our usually morning show, Fox 7 Wedding Planner on Wednesday morning. And of course, here. On the blog.

3. New website coming out. I have typed the letters off my keyboard. But I’m pretty excited about the look and feel…should be unveiled next week?

4. New Press Release will be coming out very soon about a new package we are offering.

5. Finally, we spent SIX DAYS in Atlanta at setting up real weddings and attending The Special Events Show. I have pictures from the coveted Wedding Luncheon and Gallery. I almost filled the 1 gig memory card. And I have a lot to tell you, but honestly the phone has not stopped ringing with new brides and new corporate events (not complaining)….just trying to get this info out of my brain and camera - to YOU!

Put your seatbelt on; it’s going to be interesting!
