<description>I was one of those brides. I had a ton of people tell me they would be there, how much they were looking forward to it, yada yada, and then not show up. After we got back from our honeymoon my mom called to tell me she found out why we had a lower than expected turn out. We had a rash of family illness. Two of my great uncles were in the hospital, one cousin (the head of that side of the family) was also in the hospital, and one dear friend's father was in a car wreck that morning. They all eventually recovered, but I think we would have had more people if we had been married in the hospital chapel. You just never know what might keep people away.
