congratulations christine and lenny

This is a true heart-filled story with this real-life wedding. Around the beginning of May, I received a phone call from a very polite young man, named Lenny Tidwell. He explained that his fiance, Christine O’Brien, and him were planning a destination wedding at the end of the year. However, they are having to MOVE up the wedding post haste because she is still in the Army and is going to be deployed to Iraq very shortly (her third tour overseas).

Obviously, he had my attention. I explained we had no time to waste….and he said, “Yes, Ma’am” (which made me want to turn around and look for my mother, but I digress).

We did it in 6 weeks. Lenny was AWESOME! Everyday he had a list of things to do, homework if you will. We’d check in with each other and make sure everything was going smoothly. I have no idea HOW we were able to pull together the vendors I wanted for this special wedding, a last minute JUNE wedding, but we did. There was probably someone higher than us helping it move along.

They wanted an small ceremony that would include only close friends and family, about 45 people. I found two locations and they chose the 5th floor of the Victory Theatre. One side was the ceremony and the other the sit-down, open bar reception. GREAT venue.

I was able to meet Christine one time, get her input on flowers and likes/dislikes. But basically had to do this on my own with Lenny. He did a GREAT job. What a great groom!!! Of course once Christine was back in town, he was demoted….HA!!!

It was one of the coolest and most memorable weddings I have had to date. Tight budget, but BIG on LOVE. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room (including vendors) when Christine thanked everyone for coming. She wanted a wedding and party that everyone could remember, just in case, well…..you know.

Here are some pics from the wedding. Thank you Ginger Harper and Ed Mason from SMG for helping out sooo much. Thank you Heidi Wagner with Eye Candy Photography for the pics below and being the fabulous photographer/person you are. And last but not least, Sally Barker, my fave designer who hooked me up with some seriously cool looking floral!

Enjoy!
