so long, farewell 2008…

3154125336 5f3c265207 o so long, farewell 2008...

It has been quite a year.…2008 was good to our event planning studio.

We are so thankful for our incredible, unique and interesting clients.

And the plethora of vendors that we work with on a daily basis, tirelessly to produce dreams every weekend. Just for fun, I stared making a list of all the vendors we have worked with, JUST in 2008. An hour later, this is what I’ve come up with.

Some vendors we have had the pleasure of working with several times in one year and many are scheduled on our books in 2009. I’m positive I’ve left some off, so please forgive….but this is quite a list!

Thank you to all the following businesses (and in no particular order):

Memories in the Making

2009 is going to be an interesting year. It’s going to be a year of change that is for certain.

I don’t do well with “resolutions”, but I here at the studio we are concentrating on developing our mission statements. We are rolling out new services for our clients. We will continue to strive to be an eco-friendly business; reducing paper and clutter. And we will continue to serve you (clients and vendors).

Have a happy and safe New Year!

take a break from your wedding planning

It’s hard not to constantly think about your upcoming wedding. Combined with the excitement, anticipation and the one-hundred million tasks to complete, it’s on your brain 24/7. Even if you don’t realize it.

During these upcoming holidays we encourage you to take a break. A guiltless break, from planning your wedding. Here are a few reasons why:

  1. It’s Christmas! Hello? A time for giving and loving your fellow human being. Spend quality time with your family and friends. Donate time to charity….there are bigger things than your wedding and you will feel better for it.
  2. Give yourself a mental break. Don’t think about any details or to-do lists. The holidays are stressful enough without having this as just one more thing to worry or think about (see number 1).
  3. Enjoy talking about your wedding with your family. They will ask. But do NOT let anyone let you feel guilty that you haven’t found a DJ or picked out your dress. Just smile and excuse yourself to get another drink.
  4. Your brain is very much like a muscle. When you train/work out you have to let your muscles have a break in between the workouts so the muscle will respond better. Your brain is the same way. Relaxing your mind and compartmentalizing your planning will benefit you greatly. You’ll be more refreshed after taking time off and will probably be more productive!

So go pour some eggnog and play Chutes and Ladders with your three-year old niece. Enjoy the holidays, as we will!!!

sorry for the downtime…

Don’t know if you have tried to get on the blog since about 8pm last night, but it has been down. And I have been anxious!!! Apparently, while trying to make the blog a better experience for the administrative side and for your viewing pleasure, I broke it. Simply broke the whole thing.

Meanwhile, in the midst of my panic (that could be self portrait up there) of trying to look through lines and lines of code (cha, whatever) there was some business to conduct today. Finally, around 5pm it was fixed.

Thank you for all the emails, twittering and IM’ing that let me know the blog was down. Yes. We know. Back in business tomorrow…….it’s been a long 24 hours!
